Wrestler of the Week - Week Three

Made the decision to make this weekly article a British wrestling exclusive type thing. To be honest, no one in particular across WWE or TNA has taken my interest recently, and I've yet to get further into more international wrestling. It's being a bit biased but wrestling over here has been the only wrestling that's had me gripped for the past few months, so it's easier for me to make a decision for this based around the home promotions. This week's main man is one who that I could watch for hours in the ring. One of the brightest prospects in Scottish wrestling today. The man who is known as "The Bollocks" - Kenny Williams.

The reasons for him being my wrestler of the week this week are simple. He's one of the good guys. Also, this past Sunday at ICW's Fringe show, he took a barrage of verbal and physical abuse from his contract holder, James R. Kennedy, and Kennedy Administration stablemate, Joe Hendry (... Global Hero!), and took it like an absolute hero, before competing further on in the card. He is the perfect example of a crowd pleasing good guy stuck in a heel stable through necessity. Constantly showing disinterest in Joe Hendry's matches and trying his best to ignore the demands of his manager, he seems to have finally broken Kennedy's patience at Shug's House Party, when he was a party to the murder of Hendry at the hands (and feet) of Big Damo. The administration brutally beat him down this past Sunday, and then tried to have Hendry take his place against Mark Coffey for the Zero-G Championship. Kenny wasn't having it though, and came out, not 100% to face one of the best all-round wrestlers in the country. I wasn't at the show, but have heard that Kenny put up a valiant effort, and looked on more than one occasion that he was going to take the gold.

No shame in defeat for Kenny though. The only way is up for this young man, and consistently putting on good performances can only mean that there is a big future in ICW for him. I personally see him as a Zero-G champion before too long, and it's the least he deserves. Everyone is gripped on how long he'll be a part of the Kennedy Administration, with his future seemingly solely in the hands of James R. Kennedy. The moment when he finally parts ways with them will be a great one, and I hope it happens soon, so that we can see him flourish even further as an in-ring performer, and get some gold around his waist. The future of Scottish wrestling is bright, and make no mistake, Kenny Williams will be a leading light in it.

Here's a picture of me and Dylan with him after Shug's, was coming back from the merch stand, and he came up to us and had a chat/took some pictures. Genuinely all round nice guy.
