RAW Live Results 25/8/14

I don't know how helpful this will be to anyone, but I'm going to post live results of RAW tonight. The majority of you will either be watching live or waiting until tomorrow to watch, wanting to avoid spoilers. This is just if you can't really be arsed watching it whenever and just want to know what's happening. I'll probably add bits during every break. If this is something that you'd like to see more often, let me know and I'll start doing it regularly. This will also probably be the template of the review of the show which I'll have finished and posted by about Wednesday. So aye, hope this is alright. So far we know that Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels will be appearing tonight... and that's about it so far. Tune in as the night progresses if you want caught up on what's happening!

I fell asleep near the end of the show, so that's why there were n more updates after the Bellas segment. Sorry about that!

- RAW opens with Michael Cole welcoming us to the first ever WWE Hall of Fame Forum, and Flair, Hogan and HBK make their way to the ring. They discuss Cena's chances in his rematch against Brock Lesnar at Night of Champions for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. HBK and Flair both predict Lesnar to easily retain, but Hogan is rooting for Cena. Out comes Cena to have his say. He says that he's going to go to Night of Champions to beat Brock Lesnar's ass, but not to beat him... whatever that means.

- Rusev def. Jack Swagger after the match was stopped. After a really even match, which saw Swagger lock in two Patriot Locks, Rusev began a brutal assault on the injured ribs of Jack. After numerous stomps and kicks without Swagger being able to defend himself, the referee makes the decision to end the match and award it to Rusev. (Backstage, Bo Dallas reminds Swagger that he's let down America again, and all he has to do... is BOLIEVE.)

- Cesaro def. Rob Van Dam to become the #1 contender for the United States Championship. A short match, which saw Van Dam take control early on, hitting the rolling thunder. RVD goes up top looking for the 5-Star Frog Splash, but Cesaro gets out the ring. RVD goes to grab Cesaro, who pulls Van Dam's neck down on the middle rope. Cesaro hits the Neutralizer for the win. Sheamus is on commentary, and when Cesaro gets the win, he picks up the US title and throws it in Sheamus' face.

- Paige def. Natalya. Nattie looked to start off on the front foot, but Paige delivered a brutal forearm smash, followed by some  headbutts. Natalya manages to lock in the sharpshooter, but Paige reverses and tries to lock in the PTO. After a struggle Natalya goes for another sharpshooter, but Paige kicks her in the head to take control and picks up the win by hitting the Paige Turner. (AJ comes out afterwards to declare her love for Paige, hugging her and kissing her hand, much to Paige's displeasure. Mind games hen.)

- Kane and Seth Rollins come out to give a eulogy for Dean Ambrose. Rollins cuts a decent promo about how Ambrose should have known his place, and walked away while he still could. We'll never see Ambrose ever again, but we will see Roman Reigns, who comes down to get a measure of revenge for his mate Dean. He throws Kane into the ringsteps, before going after Rollins, he launches the microphone stand into Rollins' face and sets him up for a spear, but Kane pulls Rollins out the ring.

- Dusts def. Usos via countout (Usos keep the WWE Tag Team Championships.) The Dust brothers take control early with some big dives onto the Usos to the outside. Jey Uso gets in the ascendancy with samoan drops and superkicks, but as he dives onto Stardust on the outside, he tweeks his knee and can't beat the 10 count. Goldust claims he got himself counted out on purpose and the Dusts begin a brutal assault on the Usos, including wrapping Jey's injured knee around the ring post. HEEL DUSTS.

- Rollins and Kane backstage. Kane makes a match for later, Roman Reigns will take on both Seth Rollins and Kane in a handicap match.

- Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman talk about Lesnar's win at Summerslam, and John Cena's decision to invoke his rematch clause. He tells Cena that there'll be no getting up after this rematch, it will be his last night in the WWE and it'll be GAME OVER.

- Dolph Ziggler def. Damien Mizow. Miz comes out and says he has himself a stunt double for tonight, and that is Damien Sandow. He comes out and wrestles Miz' moveset better than Miz himself, with some shoulder barges in the corner and taking advantage of Ziggler's injured knee by locking in the figure-4 leglock. Ziggler manages to escape the hold and hits the Zig Zag for the win. Miz looks amused with the win as he applauds Ziggler and leaves ringside.

- Jerry Lawler (for some reason) wants to see over a Bella Twins reconciliation. This is some Jeremy Kyle shit. It actually turns out decent as Nikki goes full on heel on Brie. Absolutely tears into her, while Brie sits pretending to cry. Nikki attacks her, just about pulling the hair clean off her scalp. Lawler gets involved and gets slapped for his troubles.

At this point, I fell asleep and missed the rest of the show, so that was really fucking annoying. However, I'll power on from where I left off, determination n that!

- Roman Reigns def. Seth Rollins and Kane via DQ. Reigns dumps Kane out early on and brings Rollins into the match for a beatdown. Kane gets back in to get the numbers game back on side, and it results in Rollins taking control with some big forearm smashes. Kane gets tagged back, and Reigns throws Rollins over the top rope. A big clothesline to Kane followed by some stiff uppercuts leaves Kane hanging on the bottom rope. Reigns goes for his dropkick but Rollins gets involved again. Reigns again neutralizes his former Shield teammate with a backdrop onto the edge of the ring before connecting with his dropkick to Kane. Back in the ring, he goes for the Superman punch, Kane blocks it and looks for a chokeslam, but Reigns gets free of the hold and hits a Spear. He has the match won anyway, but Rollins doesn't want to lose clean, and breaks the 3 count by attacking Reigns with the MITB briefcase. Rollins narrowly avoids getting his face burst when Reigns grabs a cinder block and launches it him, only for it to explode of the ring post instead.

- A nice short and sweet Bray Wyatt promo directed at John Cena, who he is due to face in the main event. Cena is a wounded animal, and what kind of man would Wyatt be if he didn't take mercy on John... and put him down?

- Los Matadores def. Slater Gator. Slater gets dominated early on by a matador before Titus O'Neill gets in and throws his weight around. Some nice backbreakers and a huge forearm to the chest while Diego was hung up on the top rope. Slater and O'Neill argued for the entire match, and it ultimately cost them as Slater was caught napping and was rolled up by matador for the win.

- Bo Dallas def. Kofi Kingston. Blink and you miss this. Kofi starts off with a huge dropkick, followed by some kicks to the gut and some punches in the corner. He goes for a moonsault at the other end but Bo pushes him off, and hits a rather botchy running BOdog for the win. Bo calls down both Kofi and Jack Swagger for letting his country down, but Jack's having none of it, and injured ribs and all, comes out and delivers a spinebuster to Dallas.

- John Cena boots fuck out of Bray Wyatt. This match ended in a no-contest because Harper and Rowan rightly stopped Cena from flat out killing Wyatt. This is the John Cena I want to see more often, showing off his brute strength and just dominating, rather than always being "the underdog". He hit Wyatt with aw the suplexes. Germans, fishermans, aw ae them. Message to Lesnar. A few huge clotheslines that just about decapitated Wyatt, who fights back for a few seconds, only to be taken down and Cena is back on the offensive. Harper and Rowan interfere and the match is thrown out, but Cena has hauners in the hands of THE USOS! Aw wait naw that was the other month. He gets Big Show and Mark Henry this time around, who come out to even the score.

- John Cena, Big Show and Mark Henry def. The Wyatt Family. Now instead of Cena dominating Bray Wyatt, is was Cena dominating the Wyatt family while his two much larger teammates watched him. Rowan shows some impressive strength halfway through the match by powerslamming Henry. After a brief spell in the ascendancy, the Wyatts are undone when Big Show chokeslams Rowan and tags in Cena, who goes all guns blazing. German suplex to Harper, and then he takes Rowan right out the game before locking in the STF onto Harper, who's forced to tap out. He's not done there though, as he hits all three members of the Wyatt Family with AAs afterwards, while Show and Henry coach him on at ringside, telling him to "BE THE MAN!" Good to see Cena being booked convincingly strong rather than having to come from behind and overcome the odds. Makes me think he might actually take it to Lesnar at Night of Champions, however, I can't see past the Beast retaining the title. I just hope Cena at least makes a match of it this time around.

So aye guys, there's yer RAW results. Kinda vague and to the point but there was nothing really captivating enough to talk about in great detail, other than Cena seemingly getting a huge gust of wind in the sails. He's looking FRESH considering he was killed last Sunday.

Catch.
