I completely forgot that I wanted to make this a thing, and
I’ve not even watched WWE in about a month, so I’ll have to stick with ICW this
week and have a wee talk about the big yin. The big yin that just so happens to
be the ICW Champion – Jack Jester.
As of late, it seemed as though there was something missing.
I started watching ICW Worldwide at the tail end of last year, and what I
gathered pretty soon after I started, was that Jack Jester was one man not to
be fucked with. I watched back through the build up to him winning the title,
and then eventually taking it from Mikey Whiplash at Fear and Loathing 6. On
that night, he made himself the main man in the company. It signaled the start
of a successful title run that’s still going strong now, but it also ushered in
something that ICW fans hadn’t seen before. A trusting, almost compassionate
side of the company’s resident Hardcore Icon.
Even after some brutal encounters with the likes of Sabu,
Jimmy Havoc, and members of the NAK, in which he reverted back to his hardcore
ways, there just seemed to be less fire in what he was doing. First came Sabu,
who turned on him after they helped clear out the NAK, attacking Jester with
his own corkscrew and a steel chair, leaving him a bloody mess. Then there was
someone who Jester seemed to consider a friend in Jimmy Havoc. During a brutal
falls count anywhere tag team match in London, in which they teamed together to
take on Chris Renfrew and Dickie Divers, he turned a steel chair on Jester, and
told him that he was coming for his belt and his life. That must have been hard
for Jester to handle, but nothing could have prepared him for what happened at
Shug’s House Party last month, when his best friend, Drew Galloway, attacked
him after coming to his aid and halt Renfrew’s contract cash in for Jester’s
title.
This latest betrayal seems to have pushed Jester over the
edge however, as he showed up at the first week of ICW’s Fringe Festival run,
to confront the International Sex Hero, DCT, after he claimed that he should be
the face of ICW. Dressed in street clothes, and baring a less than impressed
scowl, Jester made his way to the ring without saying a word, gave the ICW
title to the referee, and called for the bell. DCT didn’t stand a chance
against a rejuvenated Jester, who lashed him with his belt numerous times,
before hitting the Tombstone for the win, and leaving with his ICW
championship. Soon after, he posted a facebook status about what he done, and
that DCT had never done anything to offend him or upset him, so what would he
do to his enemies? Jack Jester seems to have gone back to standing for Jack
Jester, which can only mean good things for those of us watching, but God help
the poor bastards that he’ll now surely be looking for revenge upon.
As of yet, Sabu and
Havoc haven’t showed face in ICW since their respective maulings of Jester, but
Drew Galloway will be in the Garage to take on Darkside at 1.21 Gigawatts, so
chances are that Jester will play a part at some point in that match. Perhaps
costing Galloway the match and setting up a potential show stealer for the
title at Fear and Loathing.
We’ll see how this all plans out, with the added element of
Renfrew still lurking with his briefcase. For now though, Jack Jester is on a
mission to cause pain, and fuck loads of it. With three shows still to run at
the Fringe in the next month, there are opportunities aplenty for Jester to
take out a few more guys. This recent turn of events has meant that Jack Jester
is my wrestler of the week for this week. He’s a mad man, don’t mess with him.
BOOM.
