Fierce Females: Come & Say G'Day Preview

We're still just over a week away from Fierce Females' next show at Walkabout in Glasgow, but it's always good to get a head start on your previewin'! There will be a few more matches announced before the day and perhaps an impromptu match thrown in during the course of the night itself. For now, though, there has been three matches announced, and they're all belters. Coming off the heels of Priscilla - Queen of the Walkabout, this is set to be a fantastic night, with Nikki Storm's ongoing battle with Hardcore Glamour set to continue, and seemingly the conclusion to a long-running rivalry imminent. Without further ado, here is the card as it stands...

Viper vs Layla Rose

Only just announced tonight, this is already my pick for match of the night, and that's before the card has even been filled. My first and only experience thus far of Layla Rose was at Fierce Females: Strewth Sheila, where she made a favorable impression in her FF debut by defeating her co-debutante Lucy Cole. She made it three from three with victories over both Courtney and Fiona Fraser at "Priscilla - QOTW", and will be a tough nut to crack, if continuing in that vein of form. However, she comes up against probably her toughest opponent so far in the form of Viper, who has been on a similar roll in FF as of late, picking up wins against Lana Austin and Violet O'Hara in her past two appearances. This will be an absolute scrap between two women who hit just as hard as each other, and that factor alone makes it impossible to separate these two. I know it's cliche as fuck, but the only winner I can see at the moment are those who are in attendance to witness this brawl.

Sara vs Nikki Storm

At "Mad Maxine", Nikki Storm was on the receiving end of a Hardcore Glamour beatdown. Kay Lee Ray turned her back on the fans to join forces with Carmel and Sara, and Storm was the first casualty of this seemingly unstoppable team. Nikki Storm is no pushover though, and even with the prospect of being partner-less, she took on Carmel and Sara at "Strewth Sheila" in what started as a 2-on-1 handicap match, before Nixon Newell, and eventually Viper came out to lend a helping hand. Once again, the under-handed tactics of the Glamour Gym proved to be the deciding factor, and Storm once again found herself defeated. At "Priscilla - QOTW", these two squared off 1-on-1, but the match would end in DQ after Nadia Sapphire and Faith Lehaine got involved, and then assaulted Nikki Storm. Only the intervention of Viper and Bete Noire put an end to the brutal attack then. This time around, Storm will be looking to settle the score by finally scoring a clean win over one of her bitter enemies, gaining some much needed momentum in the process, in pursuit of the Fierce Females Championship. No doubt this will be filled with end-to-end stuff, but can we possibly see a clean finish to this match, or will Sara's comrades make their presence felt?

Fiona Fraser vs Courtney (3 Stages of Hell Match)

The rivalry between Fiona Fraser and Courtney has been going on for a while now. With each passing match/encounter between the two, it seems to be made more and more personal and intense. So what better way to settle a long-standing feud than by sending the competitors through the 3SOH mill? The tension between these two went to another level at "Strewth Sheila" when both fought to the outside in what was supposed to be a conclusive match to the rivalry, and ultimately neither answered the count of ten. What followed was brutal, as Fraser targeted Courtney's arm with a steel chair. After Courtney got some retribution, attacking Fraser following her defeat at the hands of Layla Rose at "Priscilla - QOTW", the interim GM of Fierce Females for the night - Chris Saynt - made the announcement for this match. As has been set out, the first stage will be a pinfall match, the second stage will be a submission match, and if the third stage is required after both of those, the match will be decided in a street fight. There's no doubt in my mind that this will go right down to the wire, and with the bad blood between these two reaching fever pitch, it should make for some stellar, if not a tad uncomfortable, viewing.

Carmel vs Chanel

Just been confirmed by Fierce Females, the debuting Chanel faces a tough ask on her first FF appearance, as she steps into the ring with the Pipebomb Princess - Carmel. I have never heard of Chanel, but I haven't had my finger on the pulse of the females exclusive wrestling scene up until a few months ago, so perhaps some of the stalwart fans of female wrestling have heard the name. However, we all know Carmel, and we all know what she's capable of. Regardless of the talent Chanel may possess, coming up against a seasoned veteran in Carmel on her debut match is as tough a challenge as she's likely to get. Hopefully as the match progresses, it will give us a better idea of what Chanel is all about. Until then, we have but a picture to figure it out for ourselves. One thing we know for sure, she better bring her A-game, and then some, because Carmel is not someone to ever get complacent with. On the flip side she's been busy in recent times making pals with her sworn enemy and making an even bigger enemy out of Nikki Storm, so perhaps this may be the time to catch Carmel off-guard, when she feels she may have bigger fish to fry than what's right in front of her.

Sammii Jayne vs Bete Noire

Bete has had a frustrating time at Fierce Females thus far, having yet to secure her first victory in the promotion. Recently, it has been her shoulder injury that has held her back, but despite her defiance, she has found herself on the losing end after the referee has stopped her previous two bouts, which has infuriated Bete. Sammii Jayne however is on somewhat of a roll at the moment, defeating Nixon Newell at "Strewth Sheila" and Lana Austin at "Priscilla - QOTW" in her past two appearances. At the moment, bare form would make Sammii the favorite for this contest, but will the fire be lit under Bete Noire to finally put her bad luck aside and secure her first victory in Fierce Females? Either way, this should make for a fascinating match.

The Owens Twins vs Sammi Baynz & Liberty

Bellatrix are putting some of their best forward this Sunday, as RQW European champ Sammi Baynz teams up with Liberty. Sammi was last seen in Fierce Females at "Mad Maxine", in a losing effort against Viper. It looked as though there would be a moment of mutual respect after that match, but Bellatrix owner "Sweet" Saraya put a stop to that as she came out and ordered that Sammi beat down Viper. Liberty was also seen at "Mad Maxine", when she came up short against Sammii Jayne. These two will be looking to make an impact here, but will have to go through The Owens Twins to do so. Hot off there advancement to the UK Finals of TNA's British Bootcamp, Kasey and Leah will be as confident as anyone on this card. They tasted mixed success at "Strewth Sheila" with Leah coming up short against Rhia O'Reilly and Kasey defeating Bete Noire, but resumed winning ways as a team at "Priscilla - QOTW" when they overcame the team of Nadia Sapphire and Faith Lehaine. This may be one of the most competitive matches of the night, with clear disrespect shown on the part of the Bellatrix girls, Kasey and Leah may just take it upon themselves to defend Fierce Females' honor.

Kay Lee Ray (c) vs Leah von Dutch (Fierce Females Championship Match)

The challenge was issued earlier this week, when Leah von Dutch expressed her desire to be a champion in Europe. She keeps getting better with every tour she's been on so far, and this would be the culmination of all her hard work. Having been given a huge endorsement by Edge, which included receiving free training from the Rated-R Superstar, she certainly has the hype, and this international star will be all out to be crowned the Fierce Females champion. There is, however, the roadblock that is the current holder of said championship, and perhaps the very best female wrestler that the UK has to offer in Kay Lee Ray. If you're unfamiliar with FF, you should be... but that's besides the point. Kay Lee Ray is arguably the pioneer of females wrestling in Scotland (Carmel would probably have a thing or ten to say about that but they're pals now so lets not get into it). With the drive to win that's unmatched, KLR is the standard bearer, and that's why she is champion. However, at "Mad Maxine", she decided enough was enough. No more pandering to the fans. She was in it for herself. Aligning herself with long term nemesis Carmel and Sara, she made it perfectly clear that she was looking after #1 from now on. Nikki Storm found that out the hard way unfortunately, suffering a beating that night and ultimately being robbed of what seemed like a very open contest for the FF title. With her new attitude and a couple of new friends in tow, KLR went into "Strewth Sheila" to face the returning April Davids. Again, the numbers game would catch up, and Kay Lee left, yet again, still champion. This will be her first appearance in Fierce Females since then, and Leah von Dutch will prove a tough challenge. Will there be a surprise with the Canadian taking KLR's championship away? Or will it be the Queen of Hardcore who reigns supreme once again?

As is always the case, come the time that there are more matches announced, I'll be sharp in adding them to this here preview. There are tickets left so don't forget to get yer arses down to Walkabout on November 23rd at 7pm sharp and get this done. Tickets cost £10 and are available from Rufus T. Firefly, from the the Fierce Females website by following that link and clicking on "Store", or of course you can chance your arm and head in on the day to get a ticket on the door. It should be yet another successful night for a promotion that is very much on the rise at the moment, and is certainly one that should not be missed.
